Chapter 23

When I woke up the next morning Jay was still wrapped in my arms while she sleeps. I looked around for about two seconds until I realized where I was. I was kinda curious about what was going on over at the house. It was 11:00 in the morning so I knew my dad and Ms. Carolin was at work, but I was wondering what might Brandon be doing. I nudged Jay with my knee up under the cover to wake her up. She opened her eyes then turned to me and cuddled up with me.

I asked her about five minutes later can she take me back home, just because I wasn’t gonna have to deal with my dad until later. She agreed to take me back home because her father was going to be coming back from his business trip soon. We got up and got dressed then we were on our way to the crib with her little girl in the back seat asleep. We didn’t do much talking, but we talked a little bit. When we pulled up in the yard I saw my car and Brandon’s car in the drive way. Ms. Carolin’s car and my dad’s truck wasn’t there.

I gave Jay a little kiss on the cheek just to comfort her because we spent a little time talking about her parents. She don’t realize how lucky she is to be at the best end of that situation. I mean yeah your father and mother neglects you, but at least you have the company of your flesh and blood in a big house and a nice car. Most neglected people face different circumstances. I tried to help her realize that, but nothing means more to her then her parents attention. The material things didn’t mean much to her at all.

I got out of the car after pecking Jay on the cheek and waving good bye to her little girl. I walked up on the porch then typed in the code to unlock the door. I walked in the house and there was just this dead silence throughout the house. There wasn’t a television on neither was the radio in the kitchen playing. I checked the library, but there was no sign of Brandon. I looked in the living room, the den then I finally went upstairs to his room door. I stood there at Brandon’s room for a while not hearing a sound from his bedroom. I have to admit, I started getting kinda nervous and sick to my stomach. My life was already going like a movie so I just felt like I was going to walk in on Brandon dead. Instead I opened the door and walked in on him jacking his d***k. He jumped up and pulled his cover cross him to cover up his private.

BRANDON- Man what the f***k is wrong wit’chu? Yo ass can’t knock?

DREW- (Just walked off)

BRANDON- (Puts on boxers) So you decided to come back huh? (Follow Drew to his room)

DREW- I ain’t got nothing to say to you right now yo.
